Love, Loss, and the Fight for Trans Equality

by Sarah McBride

Picture Book Grade Levels: 10th-12th

Tomorrow Will Be Different In the 2020 general election, Sarah McBride was elected to the Delaware state Senate, making her the highest ranking trans official in US political history. Before this, she served as an activist for trans Delawarians, getting legislation passed prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations which included strong personal support from Joe Biden.

Her work as an activist is chronicled in this memoir which recounts her legal and cultural struggles on the ground as one of the most notable activists for trans equality in recent years. It will give students of all backgrounds who read it an appreciation of how far this relatively recent fight has come, and how we can proceed together.
